2014 NEWS & RESULTS

We will try to keep this page as fresh as possible with pole vault news from across the state.  If you have an outstanding accomplishment or know someone who does and you don't see it here, please email us and let us know and we'll try to post it on this page. 

6th ANNUAL JACK FROST 1/4/14

 

Matt Day, Pleasant Grove Senior, broke the golden barrier with a PR leap of 15'00.25" and a win in the young men's division and record a US#10 performance.  Lake Hamilton Soph, Nick Johnson, set two new PR's on his way to victory in the intermediate boys division with 13'00.75" and 13'06.5".  Caddo Hills Freshman, Matthew Standridge, upped his PR with a leap of 13'00.75" for 2nd place while Springdale Freshman, Zach McWhorter, took 3rd with 13'00.75".

Lexi Weeks, Cabot Junior, won the young women division with a US#1 performance 13'00.75" and sister Tori jumped 12'06.75" for US#5.  Lake Hamilton 8th grader, Darby Dunn, PR'd with 9'06" to win youth girls an new coming 6th graders from Mt. Ida, Kirsten Gibbs and Isabella Thew, both went 7'00" for 1st and 2nd (beginner division) in their first lifetime meet. 

ARKANSAS INDOOR INVITE 1/18/14

 

The girls took the stage first to kick off the action.  Lexi and Tori Weeks both cleared 12'06" with Tori earning 2nd place and Lexi 3rd.

 

A couple of AVC's young guns, Matthew Standridge and Nick Johnson, were red hot reeling off a pair of PR's a piece.  Matthew finished with a Freshman US#2 13'10" and Nick leaped 14'04" for a Sophomore US#2. 

USATF ARKANSAS ASSOCIATION INDOOR PV CHAMPIONSHIPS 2/22/14

 

With all of the PR's flying around, Cabot junior, Lexi Weeks, stole the show with a 13'06.5" leap that catapulted her to the top of the Arkansas All-time list.  Her first attempt make also currently ranks her #2 in the country.

 

Matt Day, Pleasant Grove senior, had a couple of personal bests and finished out the day with 15'04.5".  Lake Hamilton sophomore, Nick Johnson, took the silver with a new PR of 14'06.5".
