Arkansas boasts an unusual statistic in the pole vault rankings this year.  Entering the season for the girls are #1 ranked Lexi Weeks and #2 Tori Weeks, Sophomore twins from Cabot.  For the boys are #1 ranked Trey Wyatt and #2 Kyle Wyatt, Senior twins from Vilonia.

Lexi comes into the season with a PR of 12'03" while 2012 State Indoor Champ, Tori was close behind with 12'01".  Trey leads the list with a PR of 16'00.75" followed by 2012 5A State Champ and Meet of Champs winner, Kyle at 15'10".

Caddo Hills 8th grader PR's 5 times

When Matthew Standridge registered for the 2013 AVC USATF Arkansas Indoor Pole Championship, he entered his PR as 9'07" - a height he cleared in a meet last summer.  Before the day was over, he became a member of the 12 foot club.

Matthew opened the competition at 9'06" then cleared 10'00", 10'06", 11'00", 11'06" and 12'00" before finally running out of adrenaline at 12'05".

He comes from a long line of vaulters in his family with his two brothers Russell Ellis and John Ellis, along with cousins Samuel Ewing and Bryan Bobo.  So far he's off to the best start of an 8th grade season than any AVC vaulter we've ever had.
